Defacement has been a huge part of human history for thousands of years, this has been an act of rebellion and a form of communication. I chose the most beautiful and Iconic sculpture in the ancient world and to the present day, the abstraction and physical manipulation of this sculpture was done in clay . I was interested in the transformation of this surface and form to bring new meaning to both beauty and chaos.
This final project, is based on my beauty and chaos projects for this I took the final drawing into Illustrator and I made this into a 3d model. Once I made it a a 3d shape I was able to add some textures to the shape. From there I was able to adjust the positioning of the shape, I changed the position by 10 degrees each time for a total of 36 times. After getting every angle of the model from illustrator I took the images into photoshop and formed them into video. When it would get to a certain angle in the video I added a picture of the actual sculpture. Last semester I worked a lot in defacement, I wanted to continue my work and take it a step further. This semester I wanted to take the most iconic and viewed as the most beautiful form throughout history. I chose this because of the history and the master craftsmanship behind it. Working with this form was very interesting because the human form is one of the most beautiful forms to view and to craft throughout history, with painting the human form was considered the only way to do art for up until the mid to late 1800s. I wanted to almost spoil a sacred and beautiful form, to give new meaning to both beauty and chaos as well as how the sculpture was viewed.
